One Night At Flumpty's 4 v.1.0.9 (beta) CHANGELOG

*This is marked as a major update since it brings a new language/translation and a new game mode to the game.
Changelog:
- Added a NEW GAME MODE: Custom Night (see Custom Night)
- Added a language system and a new language to the game: Spanish
- Replaced the Night Vision mechanic in Late Night Breakfast with a Candle. The Candle is used to see on the camera monitor, as now the LNB environment is very dark.
- Added a new animated splash screen
- Made the menus and UI elements react to the mouse pointer (PC Only)
- Fixed a bug where the default control scheme was Gamepad instead of Keyboard & Mouse
- Made selecting the control scheme apply only after exiting the control scheme menu (for convenience)
- Fixed a visual bug where the background appeared slightly faster than the clickable elements upon starting a night
- Fixed a visual bug where some UI elements would appear for a split second upon starting a night
- Added the Konami Code as a method of entering Test Mode
- Added an Easter Egg. To activate it, type "pineapplepizza" while in the main menu
- Made characters remain in CAM 6 instead of resetting their positions if an alarm is used right after they're supposed to go to the door
- Changed the way the light battery recharges. Instead of automatically recharging after being completely depleted, it recharges a tiny amount after you get rid of a character either by using an alarm (Flumpty, Boy Blam and Redman), pulling up the monitor (Mustache Man) or starring at it (Shadow Flumpty)
Custom Night:
The new game mode, Custom Night, is the main attraction of the update. It allows you to customize the difficulty of the game and toggle certain elements. You can set the difficulty of characters or disable them altogether, you can toggle certain mechanics of the game, such as Lights, the Thermostat, or Whack-A-Fuss, you can set the duration of an in-game hour, the amount of alarms you get in order to beat the night or even the environment in which the game takes place (Normal or Late Night Breakfast). This game mode is designed for all people and you can make it very easy, or EXTREMELY hard, depending on your skill level. It also has presets, including 5 default ones made by me, but you can save any configuration of settings as a preset and download it on your device (only on Windows and Linux).
Please understand that Custom Night is not yet complete and lacks some mechanics in the game, but in future updates it will become much better and more customizable.
Languages:
I noticed my game lacked regionality, so I decided to add a translation system. Now, the game is available in two languages, English and Spanish (no memes btw, that meme is long dead), with more to come in the future. Translation in Spanish is not rated, as I myself do not know Spanish. I know I promised I wouldn't use AI to make my game, but Google Translate sucks, so I decided to use ChatGPT to translate my game in other languages. Luckily, if I ever translate it in Romanian, I won't need any AI as that's my native language :P. As I mentioned earlier, more languages will be added in future updates, perhaps before or at release. I know I promised that this is the last beta until release, but I have a lot more content ready to be added to the game, so the release is delayed in the foreseeable future.
Unfortunately, some parts of the game, such as end screens and the Survival Guide/Nate's Diary are not yet translated in this update, but they will be in next betas or at release.
Plans for the future:
I know I promised a lot more for this update that didn't happen, but my schedule is full till refuse, so I don't have a lot of time to work on the game, plus I'm a very big procrastinator so that doesn't help either. Here's stuff I promised when publishing the last beta that didn't happen:
- Gamepad support for Android
- Revamped main menu
- Revamped end-screen animations
- Adding more to the game's lore
I am still considering these ideas, but they are not my main priority for now, but at release they will be in the game for sure! With that being said, here are some more stuff that I'm working on for ONAF 4 and will DEFINITELY release next beta:
- A MODDING API (yes I know this is exciting and I'm already working on it as of the release of v1.0.9 beta)
- Improvements for Custom Night (adding all of the mechanics in the game that are not already in Custom Night to it, such as Blackouts or the Candle)
And, even more stuff that will almost definitely not come with the next beta (some of them might though), but will be in the game at release (if they work out):
- Unlockable achievements
- A secret game mode (will likely be DLC)
- More Easter Eggs (including Empty Bempty from Jonochrome's original ONAF series)
- Skins for characters that you can unlock
Again, I know I promised that v1.0.9 beta will be the last beta before release, but I changed my mind as the game right now is definitely not ready for release. It has way more content and has to be tweaked until it's perfect, or at least good enough.
The next beta update, which will contain the first version of the Modding API (yes, I promise), will be coming late in 2025 (sometime between July and November). You can probably tell that it will take me a lot of time to code it, so I am begging you to be patient. Trust me, this game will become way better, but you just have to wait.
Enjoy the new content and see you next update!
